17/05/2022

Moscow Cargo LLC handled a large shipment of insulin delivered to Sheremetyevo by a flight of the Russian airline Volga-Dnepr under the Agreement concluded by the carrier with the Government of Moscow within the framework of the Commission for Increasing the Sustainability of the Economy under the leadership of the Mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

Starting from April 15, in accordance with the Programme for providing residents with essential goods implemented by the City Government, Volga-Dnepr has been regularly delivering medicines and medical equipment, children's clothing and fabrics, IT equipment and servers, spare parts and other demanded goods to Moscow.

On May 13, another flight arrived in Moscow, on board of which there were, among other things, more than 2 tonnes of insulin. Delivered volume will provide vital medicine to 30,000 patients. Vast experience in handling pharmaceuticals and medicines, including vaccines, as well as modern cargo infrastructure and an extensive fleet of apron special equipment, allow Moscow Cargo LLC to guarantee the shortest possible time for cargo handling in compliance with the required temperature regime. Less than 3 hours after Il-76 landed at Sheremetyevo International Airport, a notification was sent to the consignee about the readiness of the arrived shipment of insulin for release.

In total, the airline plans to deliver about 20,000 tonnes of cargo to the capital by the end of the year. Maxim Liksutov, Head of the Department of Transportation and Roadway Infrastructure Development of Moscow, emphasized: “The order of the Moscow Government will not only help support Russia’s largest civil fleet of cargo aircrafts, but also guarantee the delivery of critically important cargo for residents, including medicines and essentials."

You can get detailed information about the possibility of organizing the delivery of cargo from abroad, including from China, India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Vietnam and other countries, by writing to cargo@transport.mos.ru or filling out the form on the Unified Transport portal.
