70 YAERS OF CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES
02/07/2026
Today, July 2, 2026, marks the 70th anniversary of China Southern Airlines — one of the largest carriers in the People's Republic of China and a long-standing trusted partner of Moscow Cargo, LLC.

While international official sources list the airline's founding date as July 1, 1988, China Southern itself traces its origins to July 2, 1956. On that day, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) established a specialized flight detachment in Guangzhou with an initial complement of just over ten personnel.
For more than three decades, the detachment's operations were not focused on passenger or cargo services in southern China, but rather on a range of mission-oriented tasks, including:
- forest patrolling and aerial firefighting;
- agricultural pest control and fertilizer application;
- natural resource exploration;
- aerial surveying and photography, among others.
In 1988, amid a comprehensive reform of the country's civil aviation sector, China Southern Airlines was officially founded on July 1 on the basis of the Guangzhou flight detachment — evolving into the globally recognized airline it is today. Nevertheless, the company's headquarters continues to hold its annual anniversary celebrations on the date of the detachment's establishment, thereby honoring its historical roots and paying tribute to its predecessors.
On behalf of Moscow Cargo LLC, we extend our warmest congratulations to the entire team of China Southern Airlines on this remarkable milestone. We wish the company continued operational excellence, dynamic growth, lasting prosperity, and ever-greater success in the years ahead.
