DELIVERY OF CHEETAHS THROUGH MOSCOW CARGO TERMINAL

30/05/2022

Recently, the Moscow Cargo terminal handled two cheetahs, which were transported from the South African wildlife park Mystic Monkey & Feathers, to the Novosibirsk Zoo named after R.A. Shilo, which specializes in breeding cats and mustelids and which has one of the best collections of representatives of these families in the world.

The cheetahs were delivered to Moscow by a Qatar Airways flight from Johannesburg with a transfer in Doha. Considering that only the road from South Africa to Moscow took more than 2 days, and the cheetahs were still waiting for a trip aboard Aeroflot to Novosibirsk, Moscow Cargo employees tried to create the most comfortable conditions for the animals at Sheremetyevo Airport. Already half an hour after landing of the aircraft, cheetahs were delivered to the terminal and placed in a special soundproof room with a controlled temperature regime, where their physical condition was checked by a veterinary service officer.

While client area specialists helped the zoo representatives to complete all the necessary documents, the terminal staff tried to do everything possible to soothe animals after transportation and give them rest between flights. Apron transportation was carried out in a heated and air-conditioned vehicle, and the cheetahs were constantly supervised by the Moscow Cargo employees, who underwent the necessary IATA AVI training.

According to representatives of the Novosibirsk Zoo, thanks to the well-coordinated team work during this difficult transportation, the cheetahs endured the long journey well and are now settling into a new home.
