SPUTNIK V ON AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS
24/12/2020
On December 23, Moscow Cargo handled the first large consignment of Sputnik V vaccine, weighing over 9 tonnes, intended for the vaccination of doctors in Argentina. To deliver the cargo, the Government of Argentina has organized a special charter flight of Aerolineas Argentinas from Buenos Aires to Moscow on the A330-200 aircraft. The airline had not previously operated flights to Sheremetyevo and chose the Moscow Cargo terminal based on the recommendations of professional market participants who regularly send pharmaceutical cargo through Sheremetyevo.
Since November, Moscow Cargo has been handling and shipping the Sputnik V vaccine on a regular basis both in Russia and abroad - to Hungary, Serbia, Egypt, Argentina. On domestic routes, delivery is performed mainly by regular flights of Aeroflot and Russia airlines, on international routes - both by regular flights and charters organized by consignors / consignees.
According to the manufacturer's requirements, during the transportation of the first Russian vaccine against coronavirus, the temperature regime of -18 -20 ° C must be observed, which is provided by ice packs in containers with cargo. For prolonged action of refrigerants, transportation under the board is performed in insulated vans and at a minimum time before the aircraft departure. Vast experience in handling pharmaceuticals and medicines, as well as the availability of modern infrastructure and an extensive fleet of apron special equipment allow Moscow Cargo, LLC to guarantee cargo handling in compliance with the required temperature conditions.
The flight to Buenos Aires was supervised by diplomats, members of the Argentina Government and the media. Aerolineas Argentinas cordially thanked the staff of Sheremetyevo Airport and Moscow Cargo for their effective assistance and support in organizing the transportation of the vaccine.
