AIR FRANCE AND KLM MOVED TO MOSCOW CARGO, LLC FOR HANDLING

On October 7, one of the largest aviation groups in the world, Air France-KLM, which manages a number of brands in the field of passenger and cargo air transportation, as well as aviation maintenance companies, moved for handling to the Moscow Cargo terminal.
Air France-KLM has the most extensive route network between Europe and the rest of the world, providing its customers access to 250 international destinations. In the pre-pandemic year of 2019, the holding's fleet, numbering 554 aircrafts, made up to 2,300 flights daily.
In addition, both companies are members of the SkyTeam Cargo global alliance, which brings together 12 airlines that specialize in the cargo transportation. Cooperation within the alliance allows carriers to harmonize product lines and reduce transportation costs by rationalizing freight services, while customers can take advantage of a unified route network around the world, simplified booking procedures and faster connections, including standardization of ground handling services in base airports of the alliance members.
When choosing a handling operator, the Air France-KLM group was guided primarily by the interests of its clients. One of the members of the SkyTeam Cargo alliance is Aeroflot, PJSC, a strategic partner of Moscow Cargo, LLC. Transition of airlines for handling to Moscow Cargo allowed Air France-KLM agents to gain full access to the route network and capacities of the Russian national flag carrier, thus significantly expanding their logistics capabilities.
It is noteworthy that first flights of the new partners of Moscow Cargo, LLC were handled on October 7, the day which, by coincidence, is the date of foundation of both airlines. Moreover, on the day of the beginning of our cooperation, Air France and KLM celebrated their joint 190th anniversary: Air France turned 88, and KLM - 102 years.
